Portland, Summer 1900

Dear One's

I know you must think I am a long time writing. I know Judd was coming and so I waited and had to wait since he a week he only stayed 3 days came Sat morning and left Monday night. It was pretty hard the rest of the boys could have ten days he is to the Dalles now will go on the Road. Maybe the last of this week, maybe I gave your letters to him to read and can't find yours Ollie. So I can't reply as I ought to as to the $10.00 Roy wanted me to take it but I had bee here all summer and (they) she had bought so much for me and I did not want to take it and Roy has not cornplasinet??. I gave Clara the $5.00 that you sent Willie. Glara go me a bottle of Perma? this morning and would have gotten me more if had taken it. I wanted to be cured by Divine healing so I did not want to take it.

(pg2)

You want me to come up there and I would like to come but I will speak plain, I had enough of bad children. I love good ones. My children didn't dare to sass? others and I hate to take it maybe yours would not. So I want to say something and cant' think maybe I will later on. I would like to come, but it cost a good deal and can't afford to send it. If Judd send me to Colorado, I will come that way and stay awhile. it is very doubtful if I go. I want to see you as bad as you see?. Clara said to tell you to dome and Roy said you was welcome. Roy said he wanted you to come. Roy says if you can't get the assessment work down on the Placer mine, let him know and he would come up. He says he don't want to loose them. How is your mine turning out, think has Mr. Plickler?come back so you don't have so much to do. How is little Vera now, I hope she is better. I want to see the dear children. I will close now and God bless you all. As ever your lovingly answer if is a poor one and pray for me. (Children kiss mamma & Papa for me) Sophia Palmer
